Well done! For a more realistic effect, you could even use pastels on the outside for the crust instead of darker clay :)

Oh, sorry. I meant that you have to bake it. Sometimes when I do stuff that uses TLS, I bake it, then apply the TLS and bake it again. Like with the milkshake tutorial I made. It just makes it easier to apply TLS. TLS needs to be baked in order to harden. It doesn't matter if you do it before or after you do the bread slices. Just make sure that, if you want to use them as charms, you put the eyepins in the bread before baking the slices.

Translucent Liquid Sculpey. Some people use it, while others preffer Liquid Fimo, I believe. I use TLS.

I followed the tutorial but my bread was squishy when I cut it. Maybe the freezer or fridge? Otherwise it would have been perfect.

yeah, that'd help, but make sure the blade you're cutting is sharp, too

Thank you. Yep, its sharp. I honestly think its the clay. I was using Sculpy Hazlenut for the outside and its so soft. It feels like its already been treated with Liquid Sculpy.

yeah, certain colors of sculpey get soft and sticky and then smudge when you cut them. the freezer should definitely help some. =)

Hello :) I'm a noob at this polymer clay thing and I'd love to play around with it.
what colours would you suggest buying to start off making these cute sweets?

:iconpaperfaceparade:
paperfaceparade Featured By Owner Feb 10, 2010
Green is fairly easy to make if you have yellow and blue, and orange is a little bit harder to make but it can be done with red and yellow. Purple is almost impossible to mix on your own with red and blue. Brown is also relatively hard to mix. So, I'd suggest buying red, yellow, blue, purple, brown, black and white. =)
